To reach people in new and unexpected ways, journalists are rethinking formats, exploring alternative platforms, and breaking out of the hard-news mold – turning to culture, art, satire or performance. This Exile Talk is a one-night-only talk show that dives into the hybrid zones between (pop) culture and hard news – where news meets art, headlines meet hype, and storytelling crosses borders into pop culture, performance, and subversion. The event takes place in the context of the exhibition “NO” by the exiled Russian media outlet Meduza. It is organized by CORRECTIV.Exile with the support of JX Fund.

Speakers include Ivan Kolpakov (co-founder and editor-in-chief of Meduza), Jean Peters (investigative reporter at CORRECTIV and performance artist) and Maria Savushkina (exiled Belarusian journalist and former producer at Chin Chin Channel) – Moderated by Mina Jawad (writer and journalist bridging satire and performance).

As always, there will be an opportunity for informal networking over snacks & drinks after the discussion. As this event is part of Meduza’s “No: The Exhibition”, participants have the opportunity to join for a curated tour of the exhibition, starting at 6pm. If you’re interested in joining for the tour, please indicate so in the registration
