After almost two years of working in a decentralized manner, the research group War, Migration, Memory is going to draw conclusions and look back at the research work done so far but also look to the future. Which questions remain unanswered? What should Ukrainian studies look like in the future?

The group’s work combines disciplinary approaches (sociology, linguistics, history, media studies, cultural studies, human geography) with qualitative and quantitative research methods, produces multimodal research results, disseminates these to various target groups in Ukraine and abroad, and finally considers and takes into account the political implications of the research results. The research group is supported by multilingual and regionally competent science communication and administration at the Forum Transregionale Studien Berlin.

The conference will include opportunities for individual contributions, discussions, and a roundtable discussion led by Prof. Andrii Portnov.
