CISR e.V. invites urban activists, active citizens and young professionals dealing with urban issues from Germany, Georgia and Armenia to apply for the Urban Camp organised within the project “WARning the city/zens”. The project responds to the challenges and changes in the life of cities and civil societies in Russia, Armenia and Georgia caused by the Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine. Urban camp will take place in Tskaltubo.

Urban Camp is based on an interdisciplinary approach and non-formal education methods; it brings together urbanism and arts. It includes workshops, studies of local context and history, lectures, participatory and individual activities.

Three thematic workshops will address the following questions:
— How to tell a story of the place or your own story via film-making?
— How do performative practices, dérive methods, interventions, and participatory art techniques help to explore ourselves in the new town?
— How to act and interact artistically in the situations where “exclusion is included”?

You will learn different approaches to city research & action, new optics and tools including situationistic approach, participant observation, ways of working with audial, visual and other types of data, sensual impressions, etc.
