The BASEES Polish Studies Group invites paper proposals from PhD students for the Polish Studies Group Northern Workshop, taking place at the University of Manchester on 26–27 June 2025. We welcome submissions on any aspect of contemporary Polish studies, Polish history, or Polish migration (including migration to Poland).

Participants will submit a 5,000-word draft in advance and deliver a 10-minute presentation during the workshop. Participation provides an excellent learning opportunity, with expert discussants offering in-depth feedback, a master class from the Polish Studies Article Prize winner, and research skills training for PhD students.

To apply, please send your proposal to j.gryta@southampton.ac.uk by 28 March 2025, including your presentation title, a 250-word abstract, the title of your PhD project, and your year of study. Successful applicants will be asked to submit their full papers by 16 May 2025. Please find the full call for papers attached.
