The JOE-List

The JOE-List is an editorially curated mailing list for young professionals working in various social science disciplines and in the field of Southeast, Central and Eastern Europe, including the post-Soviet states. It primarily serves to disseminate information and does not pursue any commercial interests. Contributions are submitted by NGOs, foundations, academic and scientific institutions, civil society organisations, state institutes and private individuals and are edited by our volunteer editorial team before publication. All subscribers receive regular updates on conferences, seminars, publications, funding opportunities, job vacancies and much more by email and via our website.

Our background

The JOE-List was created in June 1997 on the initiative of Jörn Grävingholt as an e-mail distribution list from the then “Brühl Conferences” of the East-West College and the Federal Institute for East European and International Studies, which are now organised as “JOE-Tagungen” under the aegis of the Research Centre for East European Studies at the University of Bremen and the German Association for East European Studies.

The JOE-List does not pursue any commercial interests. To cover the editorial costs, we are happy to receive donations to a special account of the German Association for East European Studies (DGO).
