The documentary „Shards of Light – Уламки Світла“ captures the stories of survivors of the Russian occupation in 2022 in Bucha, Ukraine, including a newly wed couple, a 12-year-old school child and a city employee. After Bucha’s liberation, the film spends 3 years documenting the destruction and trauma left behind by the occupation as well as the solidarity and determination of the city to rebuild.
In their film, Marcus Lenz and Mila Teshaieva, explore the themes of war trauma, rebuilding and the different meanings of justice.
