Expand your European Network: Germany, Kososvo and Bosnia and Herzegovina

Germanwatch together with Cener21 and Balkan Green Foundation implement a joint project on Green Horizons for a Just Transition. Are you a young and enthusiastic journalist who would like to gain new insights into the Just Transition process in three European countries? Have you already worked for environment and climate related topics and wish to make a difference in your career? Then do not miss out on this opportunity!

– One year programme for 6 young Journalists from Germany and 3 young Journalists from Bosnia and Herzegovina and Kosovo each
– The Journalists pair in couples and work jointly on a story about Just Transition for (print) media
– Each participant receives EUR 1000 scholarship fee to cover local travel costs for field sights and other production related costs
– One meeting with all Journalists is foreseen for spring 2026 in a field trip to Germany; Costs for the c.a. one-week trip are covered.
– It is a study visit to places of Just Transition in the Ruhrgebiet
– The study visit serves as food for thought for storytelling about Just Transition
– The study visit also offers all participants the opportunity to get to know each other and to jointly brainstorm on possible stories about Just Transition
– The stories can cover aspects of a Just Transition from Germany, Bosnia and Herzegovina or Kosovo
– The scholarship period would start by the end of 2025 and lasts for one year
– Each Journalist should publish one story about Just Transition in the course of the year in a media outlet of his or her choice

The letter of motivation should not be longer than one page and cover:
– Interest for the region
– possible ideas for cross border topics in the area of Just Transition;

Further, you should attach:

– a short CV and describe the journalistic experience you have gained so far
– 1-2 samples of former works
– Mention media outlets that have already published your work
