Dear friends, fellow organisers and activists,
We are very excited to introduce you to the result of three years of preparation and work: POROST! Porost is a new Central and Eastern European activist initiative that supports grassroots and civil society organizations through political education, research, and network-building.

Our name means Lichen in polish, a living symbiosis between fungus and plant, symbolizing cooperation and resilience. There are thousands of lichen species, thriving in all environments: from the freezing Arctic to hot deserts, sometimes without air or water. We found it both inspiring and fitting to our region’s conditions!
Let us invite you to our trainings in 2026! Their goal is to enhance the capacity in the region to overcome our shared authoritarian, exploited histories, and build something new, that is based on solidarity and mutual care.

All trainings are free of charge, and we can cover some of the travel costs based on individual needs.

– Ecology of Social Movements : A training for experienced activists and organisers, who are looking to strengthen their strategic thinking and impact, while building meaningful transnational and transsectoral alliances. (31.08-06.09)

– Skillshare-Collectives worth staying in: A structured space to collectively discover the harsh truths about our organisations and learn from each other:

– How to build power and relationships that will last for the long run. (10.09-16.09)

– Training for Trainers: A training focused on methodologies, approaches and frameworks useful in facilitation and transformative education in the region. (13.10-18.10)

– Active Solidarity: A training that focuses on learning as much as on unlearning. How to recognise and to not reproduce harmful patterns? How to work with systemic power and privilege in our groups and to be able to build intersectional cooperations? (25.10-31.10)
