18 March 2026, 6-8 pm: How to challenge big tech and regain public trust in journalism?
Location: Brunnenstrasse 105-109, 13355 Berlin
Curious to have a peek in the media kitchen? Each month, we invite journalists, experts and their audiences to take a seat at our table for conversations on journalism and its impact over snacks and drinks. This March, we take our conversation into our photo exhibition to discuss how journalism can hold accountable the very digital platforms it often depends on to reach audiences.
The kitchen talk takes place in the venue of the documentary photography exhibition SPOTLIGHTING – Turning the Lens on Journalism. The photographs shift the focus from headlines to the people who produce them, so as to ask: who makes journalism possible, and under what conditions?
As our newsfeeds become flooded with AI-generated content, disinformation drowns out verified facts, and trust of the public in journalism spirals downwards, journalists face yet another challenge: they must investigate the power of digital platforms while relying on those same infrastructures to distribute their content and reach audiences.
