Dear Colleagues,

my name is Anastasia Serikova, I am a museologist and a doctoral researcher in History at Bielefeld University. In my PhD, I focus on the Russian museum exhibitions representing ongoing wars, examining them as instruments for the accelerated ‚museumification‘ and ’sacralisation‘ of contemporary objects as heritage.

I would like to organise a panel on Russian museums as places or instruments of the militarisation and weaponisation of heritage for the Congress of Central and East European Studies (ceecon26) on 8-9 October 2026 in Berlin, application deadline – 15 January 2026. Now I am looking for two other panellist researching any aspect of the history or present of Russian museums.
